Question #4 on protecting and expanding green space: Will YOUR ideal candidate answer YES or NO?

Question #4 on protecting and expanding green space:  Will YOUR ideal candidate answer YES or NO?

We are putting 2026 local election candidates on the spot by asking each individual candidate six direct questions Delta residents want answered.  See our attached list of questions.  Starting June 20th, we will reveal how each candidate answers.

About Question #4:

Did you know the City of Delta has no substantive plan for establishing new and meaningful green space for its growing population, ensuring residents always have decent levels of access to parks and natural outdoor areas?

These are vital to the health and wellbeing of residents.

With ever-increasing densification and the ongoing removal of established evergreens to clear land for development, the current tree replacement bylaw means the existing tree canopy will continue to decline, negatively impacting Delta’s human and natural environments. No matter how you feel about environmental initiatives or tree removal, if you reside in Delta, this election issue impacts YOU.
