 Question #6 on area of residence:  Will YOUR ideal candidate answer YES or NO?

We are putting 2026 local election candidates on the spot by asking each individual candidate six direct questions Delta residents want answered.  See our attached list of questions.  Starting June 20th, we will reveal how each candidate answers.

About Question #6:

Did you know there is no law against a non-Delta resident being elected for Delta City Council?  In this situation, a councillor who is a non-resident, is legally entitled to vote on matters that affect how the community takes shape, and how Delta resident’s tax dollars are spent.  No matter how you feel about where an elected official makes their home, if you reside in Delta, this election issue impacts YOU.

    Definitely the candidate being considered for council must be a resident of Delta! My primary residence is in Delta. Gail Nicholas
