DREAM Delta to Release 2026 Election Dashboard on June 20

Delta, BC – DREAM Delta announced today that it will publish its 2026 Election Dashboard on June 20, providing residents with a side-by-side comparison of candidate positions on six issues identified by community members as important to Delta's future.

The initiative was developed to promote transparency, accountability, and informed decision-making ahead of Delta's municipal election on October 17, 2026.

“DREAM Delta believes voters deserve clear and direct answers from those seeking public office,” said Marilyn Murray, spokesperson for DREAM Delta. “Every candidate received the same questions, the same deadline, and the same opportunity to communicate their positions on issues important to Delta residents.”

The Dashboard focuses on individual candidates rather than political organizations or slate messaging. All candidates were invited to respond to the same six questions using one of three response options: YES, NO, or OTHER.

“The intent was not to oversimplify complex municipal issues,” Murray said. “Rather, it was to provide voters with a consistent framework for comparing candidate positions and encouraging further discussion.”

DREAM Delta acknowledges that some candidates raised concerns regarding aspects of the questionnaire methodology and welcomes constructive feedback. However, all candidates were subject to the same published guidelines, deadlines, and response requirements.

“Maintaining the integrity of the process required that the same rules apply to everyone,” Murray said.

Candidates representing multiple slates completed the questionnaire in the prescribed format, and their responses will be reflected in the Dashboard.

One Delta did not submit completed questionnaires from its individual candidates. Instead, one minute before the June 15 deadline, DREAM Delta received a submission from the slate’s campaign manager objecting to the questionnaire format and providing a collective response on behalf of the organization.

While DREAM Delta respects One Delta’s right to disagree with the format, the submission did not comply with the published requirements.

“The issue was never whether candidates agreed with the questionnaire,” Murray said. “The issue was whether all participants would be held to the same standard. Several candidates expressed concerns about aspects of the process yet chose to participate within the established framework.”

Consistent with the process communicated to all candidates, DREAM Delta will continue accepting completed questionnaires for inclusion in future Dashboard updates. Candidates who have not yet responded will continue to have the opportunity to publicly communicate their positions on issues important to Delta residents.

“Our role is not to tell residents how to vote,” Murray added. “Our role is to provide information, promote transparency, identify where clarity exists and where questions remain, and allow voters to draw their own conclusions.”

The DREAM Delta 2026 Election Dashboard will be published and distributed electronically on June 20, 2026, through DREAM Delta’s website and social media channels.
