DREAM Delta 2026 Election Dashboard (June 20, 2026)

Today, we are pleased to release the DREAM Delta 2026 Election Dashboard, an initiative designed to help Delta residents better understand where candidates stand on several important issues facing our community ahead of the October 17^th municipal election and to encourage discussion, communication, and conversation.

The DREAM Delta 2026 Election Dashboard provides residents with a side-by-side comparison of candidate positions on six issues identified by community members as important to Delta's future. Developed to promote transparency and informed decision-making ahead of the municipal election, the Dashboard focuses on individual candidates rather than political organizations or slate messaging.

All candidates were invited to respond to the same six questions using one of three response options: YES, NO, or OTHER. The objective was to provide voters with a consistent framework for comparing candidate positions while ensuring that every candidate received the same questions, deadlines, and response requirements.

While some candidates raised concerns regarding aspects of the questionnaire methodology, it did not prevent them from completing the questionnaire and providing voters with clear answers.

The majority of candidates from multiple slates completed the questionnaire in the prescribed format and their responses are reflected in the Dashboard.

One Delta did not submit completed questionnaires from its individual candidates. Instead, shortly before the June 15 deadline, DREAM Delta received a collective response from the slate's campaign manager objecting to the questionnaire format. Although DREAM Delta respects One Delta's right to disagree with the process, the submission did not comply with the published requirements and therefore could not be included.

DREAM Delta also acknowledges that Achieving For Delta’s council candidate, Nick Kanakos, attempted to respond before the deadline but was unable to due to technical issues.  We look forward to his response being included in the next update.

DREAM Delta will continue accepting completed questionnaires for inclusion in future Dashboard updates. Candidates who have not yet responded will still have the opportunity to publicly communicate their positions on issues important to Delta residents.
